Left Fiorentina Gomez Two Weeks
Florence – Fiorentina will not be strengthened by Mario Gomez during the next two weeks. Germany striker suffered an ankle injury and had to undergo restoration.
Gomez appeared the last time when Fiorentina beat Juventus in the first leg of the Coppa Italia semi-final round, Friday (03/06/2015) pm dawn. But in the game, Gomez did not appear for 90 minutes.
Gomez has pulled out in the 63rd minute. Allenatore Vincenzo Montella then enter Josip Ilicic instead.
Kubu Fiorentina then announced that Gomez suffered an injury to his ankle. He was called to take two weeks to recover.
“Mario Gomez passed tests reveal in the anterior cruciate ligament injury in the left ankle. The player has started a recovery program to reduce swelling,” the statement quoted by the Italian Football Fiorentina.
“Gomez, therefore, must be absent from sports activities for two weeks,” the statement continued.
Thus, Gomez can not appear when Fiorentina face Lazio and AC Milan in Serie A. He is also expected to be sidelined for two matches last 16 of the Europa League against AS Roma.
Gomez middle rediscover top form after more often pulled over due to injury early in his career with La Viola. This season, the 29-year-old striker was already packed seven goals in all competitions this season.
