Confident Bayern CEO Lewandowski and Ribery Can Play at Camp Nou
Munich – Robert Lewandowski and Franck Ribery is still in a state of injury and is doubtful to play in the Champions League semi-final first leg against Barcelona. However, Bayern Munich CEO Karl-Heinz Rummenigge confident they can appear in the Camp Nou.
Lewandowski suffered a fractured nose and upper jaw. Polish striker collided with Borussia Dortmund goalkeeper Mitch Langerak, in the DFB-Pokal semi-final match on Tuesday (04/28/2015).
However, Rummenigge sure Lewandowski will be ready for Bayern in a fierce fight against Barca at Camp Nou on Wednesday (05/06/2015) future.
“That’s what will happen. I am quite sure,” said Rummenigge told B5 Aktuell.
“He will wear a face shield and it should make sure he will play against Barcelona,” he said.
Meanwhile, Ribery is recovering from an ankle injury. He has not played since Bayern beat Shakhtar Donetsk 7-0 in the Champions League last 16, mid-March.
“We hope he can at least get in the squad on Wednesday,” said Rummenigge.
“Our doctors are working day and night to make it so possible,” he said.
